Raiders rumors surrounding NFL Free Agency and the 2020 NFL Draft are all focused on linebacker targets for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders released LB Tahir Whitehead on Monday, saving the team $6.2 million in cap space for the 2020 NFL season. Cory Littleton, Joe Schobert, Kenneth Murry and Patrick Queen are just a few names host Mitchell Renz discusses as possible replacements for Tahir Whitehead.
The Raiders biggest need might be linebacker and there’s plenty of options in NFL free agency. Raiders rumors have linked Cory Littleton and Joe Schobert, but Mitch is also throwing out Jamie Collins, Blake Martinez, Mychael Kendricks and Kyle Van Noy as top free agent LB targets.

The 2020 NFL Draft is less than a month away and the timing of the Tahir Whitehead release could change their approach with their draft picks at #12 and #19. Could the Raiders trade up to get Clemson LB Isaiah Simmons in the draft? Simmons showed out at the NFL Combine and Mitch is projecting him to be taken in the first 5 picks. However, Kenneth Murray or Patrick Queen could be options without making a trade.
The Raiders have roughly $56 million in cap space. If they swing and miss in free agency, they could always re-sign players like Will Compton or bring back Vontaze Burfict. Compton did a serviceable job this past year and would provide some depth but doesn’t fully address the need at linebacker. Vontaze Burfict provided a veteran presence, the risk of him being suspended indefinitely is a huge red flag.
